We've had a couple of days of unseasonably warm weather, so the trees are kinda thinking "spring". We expect a few very cold days coming up, so I hope all the buds aren't damaged by the cold nights.
I had breakfast with my dad again today, as usual. We talked about the usual things and solved the usual problems. The great thing is, the usual thing never gets boring.
Not much else to say today, except...
.... guys! NOW is the time to stock up for next year!

Those pics are totally beautiful. That is nuts. Now, will the trees die if it gets cold again?
Naw, they won't die, but it might hurt the blossoms, which, in the case of fruit trees, could hurt the fruit later. But it doesn't get THAT cold here. By a cold snap, I mean nights with lows in the 30s, maybe upper 20s, with days well into the 50's.
I guess "cold" is relative.
Oh Yeah, I forgot what it is like OUTSIDE the state of MI.
If it wasn't so crowded, I would love to live in California because of the weather. Unfortunately, that is also the reason it is so crowded.
I'll have you know, why you are posting pictures like this, we are getting the crap beat out of us by thunder ice storms right now. Fortunately the wife's van to work cancelled so she is home but because I only live two miles away from work, I am pretty much expected to slide there anyway. Not looking forward to the hour scraping the ice off for the slide home.
I've seen tell of some of those storms across the midwest, and I guess the east coast got belted last week.
You know, there ARE plenty of areas in California where it's not crowded. The entire north state, if you look at a map and cut the part off that's north of Sacramento and San Francisco, has a smaller population than the State of Ohio, and almost 1/3 more the size. The largest cities in the north state are Redding or Red Bluff, both of them populations of about 50k.
We're not ALL cities and crowds. You'd be real surprised.
But, uhm... Iowa IS all cornfields, right? hehe
There is perhaps only one town in Iowa with more than 50k in population and that is the capital city.
I have northern California on my future trip plans someday. I've heard that it is very beautiful and not crowded like the southern parts. But with the exception of one quick run to spend a New Year's day at the giant Sequoias, it remains largely unexplored by me.
What beautiful pictures! It's supposed to be in the high 80's here by the middle of next week. YUCK! That's weather for May, not February/beginning of March.
